Google Hotel Integration

Overview

RoomBoss can integrate your accommodation booking engine with Google Hotel so your property can show an “Official website” booking option on Google Hotel surfaces (e.g., Search/Maps/Google Assistant).

How booking tracking works

RoomBoss only tracks bookings that start from the “Official website” link in Google Hotel.

When a guest clicks “Official website”, they are redirected to a booking page that looks like your RoomBoss booking widget but includes tracking identifiers so RoomBoss can attribute the reservation to Google Hotel.

Requirements

  • Your property must be listed as a “Hotel” on Google (Maps) to proceed.
  • Rate parity: Google does not allow price discrepancies. Rates shown on the “Official website” booking page must match those on your RoomBoss direct booking widget.

RoomBoss fees

  • Setup fee: 10,000 JPY + 2,000 JPY per property. This fee is purely for establishing a connection with Google Hotel.
  • Performance fee: A 7.5% commission applies when a guest completes a stay booked via Google Hotel. For reference, OTAs such as Booking.com and Expedia charge 15%.

Setup steps

  1. Agreement & Payment: confirm and sign agreement (per email is sufficient). Complete setup fees.
  2. Permissions: grant the RoomBoss Support User permission to edit Website Configuration. This is required to configure the “Official webite” landing setup.
  3. Submission: RoomBoss submits your property data to Google and waits for Google to publish it.
  4. Timeline: most properties go live within ~2 weeks, depending on Google approvals.

Where to see Google Hotel bookings in RoomBoss

In RoomBoss, the booking source is shown on the Edit a Booking page as:

  • Google Hotel Ads or Google Hotel Organic

The booking source segment is automatically created. This booking source also appears in various reports throughout RoomBoss.

Google Hotel Organic vs Google Hotel Ads

Your property can appear on Google in two ways. RoomBoss may bid on Google Hotel Ads as needed, and Google may show either/both placements.

Inside RoomBoss, this distinction functions as a booking source label (how the guest found your “Official website” link).
It's not an option that can be chosen.

RoomBoss handles the ad costs on our side. The only extra charge to you is the agreed commission on completed stays that came via Google Hotel (Organic/Ads).

Notes & limitations

  • Placement of “Official website” is not controllable (especially in Ads, where auction + quality factors apply).
  • Country/language targeting (e.g., hiding “Official website” for certain countries) is not supported at present.
  • If you disconnect and later reconnect, the reactivation fee is the same as initial setup due to reconfiguration and re-uploading property data.
