Each room has a status that indicates the cleanliness of the room, the statuses are Dirty, Clean and Inspected.
These statuses will automatically change on the following events:
GUEST CHECKS IN When checking in a guest from Front Desk HQ, the status of the room will be automatically changed to Dirty.
GUEST CHECKS OUT When the guest checks out, a departure cleaning task is created automatically. The room status remains as Dirty.
CLEANING COMPLETED When the housekeeping staff completes the cleaning process, open Housekeeping HQ and click "Set as Completed" on the appropriate booking. This will automatically change the status of the room as Clean.
INSPECTION COMPLETED
When the a room inspection has been completed, open Housekeeping HQ and click "Set as Completed" on the appropriate booking. This will automatically change the status of the room as Inspected.
The Inspection event is not present by default in new accounts. If Inspections tasks are part of your workflow, please let us know and we will add this event.
Marking mid-stay cleans as "Completed" will not change the room status to Clean (the room will still be in use by the guest).
The Arrival page on Front Desk HQ displays the Room Status for incoming arrivals. Allowing the Front Desk team to confirm if a room is available for check in. This can be used if a guest arrives earlier than the designated check in time.
The Room Status page provides an overview of the current status of rooms, you may choose to use this page when looking for available rooms for walk-in customers.
It also provides information about when and by whom the status was last changed for accountability.
You may also manually set any room status to Clean, Dirty, or Inspected. This can be used to reverse a state if required, such as if a wrong booking was checked in or if a task was incorrectly completed.
